Brussels Airport (IATA: BRU, ICAO: EBBR) (Dutch: Luchthaven Zaventem, French: l'Aéroport de Bruxelles), also called Brussels National Airport or Zaventem Airport, is an international airport located in Zaventem, in Flanders, near Brussels, Belgium. The airport is a hub to SN Brussels Airlines, Virgin Express and DHL Aviation.
Brussels National Airport is situated 13kms northeast of the city of Brussels, is one of Europe’s major aviation hubs, serving 21 million passengers each year. Flights connect with cities in Belgium, plus many international and transatlantic destinations. One terminal handles all flights, with amenities distributed across two connecting piers. All major international airlines (and most budget carriers) use Brussels' convenient National airport The airport displays art and other exhibitions on a regular basis. Recent offerings include a history of toys and marionettes, and a look at the Belgian beer tradition.
The airport is easily accessible by car from the Brussels Ring Road. A train station is located in the basement of the terminal. From 6:00 until midnight, Airport City Express trains link the airport with Brussels Midi, Central and North stations four times an hour (journey time, less than 20 minutes). A one-way ticket costs Eur2.60 second class and Eur4.10 first class. The airport’s bus station is situated below the arrivals hall. Express buses to Brussels city centre run every 20 minutes during peak hours (fare, Eur3); to Antwerp, once an hour (fare, Eur8). Metered taxis are available outside the arrivals hall. The normal fare for the 25-minute trip to downtown Brussels is about Eur30.
