Blackpool Airport (IATA: BLK,ICAO: EGNH) is a small regional airport, 5 km south of Blackpool, Lancashire in north west England. The airport is owned and operated by City Hopper Airports Limited, who also own Wolverhampton Airport and Biella Airport in Italy.
Several scheduled services operate from the airport, as well as chartered holiday flights in summer months. Helicopter operations serve the north west England´s offshore gas facilities.
Blackpool International Airport, located 5kms south of Blackpool, is a small but growing regional airport serving about 175,000 passengers per year. The terminal, constructed in 1995 and which is presently undergoing renovations, handles regularly scheduled flights to London, Aberdeen, the Isle of Man, Belfast and Dublin, as well as to Amsterdam, Barcelona and Malaga. Charter flights connect with Jersey, Italy and the Canary Islands.
Blackpool Airport is situated near the end of the M55 motorway. To reach Blackpool by car, take the A584 coast road (Promenade) which leads directly into Blackpool city centre. Buses serving the local area depart from near the airport entrance. Destinations include Blackpool city centre, North Fylde and Lytham St. Anne´s. Further transportation options are provided by a taxi rank which lies just outside the arrivals area. Blackpool´s Squires Gate train station is five minutes´ walk from the terminal. From there, trains run regularly to all parts of the UK, via Preston.
